I am writing to thank you for the generosity you showed our children here at the American
Family Childrens Hospital over the past holiday season. Thanks go to you for providing each of
our children with special gifts, your purchase of a "Shape the Way" tile, the hundreds of dollars
you have given to Child Life. While we are sad for you in your loss of Riviera, it is wonderful
that you have gone beyond this loss to include so many others in the celebration of Riviera's life.
I understand that your family (including aunts, uncles and grandparents) brought thousands of
dollars worth of gifts to benefit Peds ICU and Heme/One patients and siblings. The toys,
blankets, games, stuffed animals, etc. collected through donations in loving honor of Riviera's
"River of Hope" are so very much appreciated. The blankets (handmade by a friend), the gifts
from Jennifer's 2nd grade students and the donations from your community for money to buy
toys, etc. are all amazingly generous shows of support to our patients
I cannot thank all involved enough for this amazing generosity. You all have my heartfelt
thanks! This has made for more pleasant stays for our pediatric oncology patients receiving
treatment at our AFCH.
We strive to give our children the best possible care. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit
works to improve the outcome for children battling cancer and immuno-deficiencies. Your help
in thinking of our children's overall happiness while at the hospital is greatly appreciated!
