A Visit With Cole

We had the pleasure of meeting Cole last night. He is such a brave little boy! It was an absolute pleasure meeting this fighter and his parents. When we meet families with kids with cancer, no words have to be spoken...we just understand each other... Keep fighting Cole! We are so happy that we could bring you smiles during a difficult time... we wish you many more in the future...

I want to take a moment before I sign off to say thank you to the River of Hope foundation and the Konen Family! We were blessed enough to receive a call from them this week. They explained their mission and asked if it would be alright to visit with Cole and to bring him a few things. You see, River of Hope is a local group in Hilbert, WI that was started to honor the Konen family’s daughter’s legacy. Riviera, sadly, lost her battle with cancer. In her memory, River of Hope was formed in 2006 and has since collected THOUSANDS of gifts for local children battling cancer, as well as hospitals such as American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison. When you meet their family in person, you’re immediately met with their genuine love, kindness, and care. It actually radiates from them! (Even Dad gives hugs!) Their visit here yesterday was short, but wonderful. We had woken Cole before they got here so he could say hi and thank you. I don’t think that he anticipated the bag full of presents that they brought for him, but he smiled for the first time all day when they handed the goodies to him. It was SO great! (By the way, he absolutely LOVES the helicopter that takes off from it’s stand when you pull the cord! Mom kind of, sort of, ran the helicopter into the wall last night showing Cole how it works. He laughed SO hard! Dad was not so impressed…Hehehe…) THANK YOU, thank you, thank Konen Family! We are so sorry that you understand, too well, the pain and struggle of a child and family with cancer, but your daughter’s legacy is living on in a beautiful way thanks to your commitment and love. God bless you always! I ask everyone reading this to please visit their page http:// riverofhopeforkids.blogspot.com & support their mission! Thank you! Also, I want to say a special thank you to Cassie Geiser for mentioning our family to the Konen’s. We are SO appreciative! Thank you!
