This is our 6th trip to UW American Family Children's Hospital but our first in summer. We thought it would be a great idea to make the trip twice a year to spread the joy, smiles, and hope. It was another amazing experience where we met a lot of awesome kids and families. Our hope is to bring smiles to as many people as Riviera brought to us. Thanks to Stephanie, the Child Life Specialist, who helped walked us around the hospital to deliver all the gifts. Thanks to Tina, Riviera's Child Life Specialist, who arranged things ahead of time to make our trip go very smoothly. We continued our tradition of going room to room throughout the entire hospital giving the children toys, blankets, books, games, and stuffed animals. The last two visits we have started handing out gifts to the patient's siblings as well because we know first hand how difficult the hospital stay can be on siblings too. We also brought along lots of treasure box items and things for our beloved Child Life Program. I wish everyone who has donated items could experience what it feels like to bring hope and smiles to kids...it is truly remarkable.
